A decoction of the whole herb is antibilious, aperient, appetizer, cathartic, 
cholagogue, detergent, tonic, vermifuge. It is used internally in the treatment 
of consumption, debility, diseases of the liver, gallbladder problems, 
gallstones etc. It is also used to relieve nausea and vomiting.
